Our Mission

The Bernadette Melberger Memorial Fund (the “Fund”) is a non-profit organization founded in loving memory of Bernadette Melberger. In honor of her compassionate spirit and brave fight against ovarian cancer, the Fund will provide financial support to ovarian cancer patients and families of Regional Cancer Care Associates in Sparta, New Jersey (“RCCA”) that are struggling to meet medical and living expenses associated with diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Patients and families affected by other types of cancer will also be considered.

The Fund will raise money throughout the year through individual donations and fundraising events. The proceeds will be allocated to ovarian cancer patients and families of RCCA with demonstrated financial need to help subsidize costs such as insurance co-pays, prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs, traveling to and from treatments, wigs, and food services. The Fund believes that eliminating such financial barriers will provide patients and their families with greater access to the resources necessary to do more than just live with cancer, but fight and overcome it.
